Pictures from Bali 2006 Retreat

This Statue of Ganesha was the first thing we saw each time we stepped into the private grounds of Ubud Bungalows. He was often decorated with flowers and offering baskets. Ganesha is the patron saint of yoga. He is the remover of obstacles but also can be the placer of obstacles if that is what it takes to steer us onto the right path.

This is the holy water garden Tirta Ganga where spring water pours from beneath a volcano and is directed into ponds set with statues of characters from the Ramayana. There is also a place to bathe in the holy water.

This is the yoga studio at Pondak Pisang in Candidasa, a small town on the east coast. Several bungalows surround the studio and the shore is just a few feet away.

This is the shore line at Candidasa. We went for a day trip here this year and loved it so much we decided to make it part of the trip next year. In 2007 we will stay part time in Ubud, the artistic center booming with live and colorful people and part time, here in the quiet serenity of Candidasa.
